2205 duplex stainless steel tube is a compound stainless steel composed of 22% chromium, 2.5% molybdenum and 4.5% nickel-nitrogen alloy. It has high strength, good impact toughness and good overall and local stress corrosion resistance.
Features of 2205 duplex stainless steel tube:
1) The yield strength of 2205 duplex stainless steel is more than twice that of ordinary austenitic stainless steel, a property that allows designers to reduce weight when designing products.
2) It is particularly suitable for use in the -50°F/+600°F temperature range. Applications outside this temperature range may also consider this alloy, but there are some limitations, especially when applied to welded structures.
3) Compared with austenitic stainless steel, duplex stainless steel 2205 alloy has superior performance in spot erosion and crevice corrosion, has high corrosion resistance, and has a lower coefficient of thermal expansion and higher thermal conductivity than austenitic.
